During the winter, earth tones are best for your skin and your hair. It also depends on the colors in the clothes that your wear. Try to match or use the same family of colors in your make-up that you do in your clothes.
For instance, if you wear a camel colored shirt and brown pants, try to find a several shadows to match both along with one that is close to your natural skin tone and also a shadow to shade the crease of your lid. Then find a gloss that is also close you your skin tone as well.
You can mix up the colors and add greens or dark browns along with light browns and tans.
As for your hair color, light auburn to medium brown as the undertone and light brown to dark blonde highlights are good also.
Whatever you do, do not put black on your hair if you know that you may want to go lighter in the future. I am telling you this for several reasons. 1.) Because black eventually fades and turns green or blue depending on the base color and if you already have highlights in your hair. They expecially show the brassy tone on top of the highlights after several washes. 2.) If you decide to go lighter in the future the only way to completely get rid of the black is to bleach your hair possibly several times then you have to use a filler to redeposit the color you would like your hair to be. This is sometimes more damaging than highlighting your hair alone.
Hope this helps.
GOODLUCK!!!!
