it seems mostly the liner is the issue, and im not sure if you are wearing shadow.

1) apply the liner lighter ( black liner is perfectly fine, bc its less makeup but more impact), try to apply it to the ROOTS of your TOP LASH line only and avoid the bottom ( if you want, you could apply it at the bottom if its night time)

2) if you CHOOSE to wear eyeshadow, try a shimmering bronze brown color or a deep forest (meaning dont pick a bright color) green, it will make your eye color pop

3) i personally believe that teenagers look a thousand time better with a deep black mascara and some liner on the top than lining the entire eye in liner

hope that helps!-any advice on how to make my eye-makeup look better?
wear purple and greens for eyeshadow use a highlighting color under your brow (just any light color) and then mascara on top and bottom lashes.
a simple line of black.

not too much.

only on top of eye.

your eyes will look brighter and bigger.

your face will look a lot more fresh too.
Perhaps just going a slight bit lighter with your liner, and give it a slight smudge. What is approriate for a hot date will not work for your day job.
If eyes are brown, try charcoal gray or black-brown liner.

If a lighter eye color, try espresso brown, or navy liner.

Shadows look better if the brow bone is not highlighted much - try a 'flat' [ not shimmery ] color, closer to your skin tone for day; shimmer is for parties/dances.

light skin - light shades like mint, light gray, sky blue, light cocoa, lavender

medium skin - medium tones like jade, gray, smoke blue, tan, orchid

dark skin - more intense hues like hunter, charcoal, periwinkle blue, chocolate, plum
make sure you use a base colour (a skin coloured eyeshadow)

and be sure to remove all makeup properly (baby oil works good) so you dont have any 'leftovers' that may effect the outcome of the next colours you apply.
